Engineering Technician
To provide asset maintenance support to the operation of the business ensuring that all assets are managed to a safe and reliable level of performance.
Objectives:
* In line with the Company’s goals and strategy.
* Provide efficient reactive response to all plant incidents and breakdowns.
* Perform planned preventative maintenance duties on assets and services to increase uptime, maintainability, and performance.
* Help deliver operational performance improvements identified through key measures by delivering continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Comply with Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements within the business in line with the Health & Safety Policy and Procedures, e.g., Work Instructions, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems.
* Ensure a high standard of engineering maintenance support to production and all other functions within the business, thus ensuring a high performance of all equipment and systems.
* Develop safe behavior and ensure a clean as you go policy is adhered to.
* Prioritize food safety in all works carried out and address any potential food safety issues immediately.
* Use a Continuous Improvement process to develop and improve all aspects within your control.
* Adhere to all Jacksons Bakery processes and procedures.
* Maintain accurate and timely records of all work carried out, including correct and detailed information on handover between shifts.
* Demonstrate Jacksons Bakery values and beliefs through your standard of work, communication, and behavior.
General Requirements:
* Be a proactive member of the team, maintaining Company standards and influencing policy.
* Set and achieve high personal standards of competence.
* Share knowledge and expertise with other Shift Engineers.
* Qualified in relevant engineering discipline and multi-skilled to appropriate level.
* Capable of solving problems wherever practically possible.
* Use knowledge to design out problems and improve engineering systems and procedures.
* Attend training as required to meet mandatory business requirements.
* Build working relationships.
* Take a critical friend approach to challenging in constructive ways.
* Involve operators in problem-solving to develop/enhance their ownership.
* Understand requirements of internal customers (e.g., operations).
* Support problem-solving programs led by others.
* Share knowledge with trainers to enable operators to build capability.
Health & Safety:
* Maintain an excellent personal health and safety record and act to ensure the safety of others.
* Inform appropriate persons of potential safety issues and recommend corrective action needed.
* Work towards a safe culture by developing safe behavior.
* Ensure that all staff, visitors, and contractors comply with the Jacksons Bakery Health & Safety policy at all times.
* Challenge unsafe behaviors demonstrated by employees or contractors.
Administration:
* Ensure work records are filled in promptly and accurately, highlighting outstanding issues.
* Demonstrate effective use of time through the CMMS.
* Use maintenance records to identify failure patterns and flag issues/solutions.
* Actively be involved in improving CMMS data collection methods and standards.
* Understand the value of plant history information and support and contribute to departmental systems improvements.
* Perform all reasonable duties that are within your capabilities and do not compromise safety or other company requirements.
