We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic ACPs/Trainee ACPs to work within the Urgent Treatment Centres. We welcome applications from ACPs, those currently in Trainee ACP programmes, and those wishing to become a trainee ACP. Our UTC sites are Ripley, Ilkeston, Buxton, and Whitworth.
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced nurses or allied health professionals to join our existing team of ACPs at our Ripley, Whitworth, and Ilkeston locations.
A Band 8a position will be offered to candidates who have already completed an MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent) and can demonstrate contemporary experience working at an advanced level within a relevant clinical environment.
A Band 7 trainee position may be offered to an aspiring Advanced Clinical Practitioner committed to undertaking an apprenticeship training programme.
If offered a trainee position, you will commit to undertaking an apprenticeship programme comprising a 3-year MSc in Advanced Practice and developing an e-Portfolio to demonstrate your capability across the four pillars.
Trainees will start on AFC Band 7 pay scale and be uplifted to Band 8a upon successful MSc completion and portfolio review.
Main duties of the job
The role supports a core team of ACPs across four units to provide seven-day service coverage, linking trainees into a clinical lead support resource. The GM will ensure the service's ongoing direction.
As an ACP, you will:
* Provide clinical leadership, including direct care and advice on complex issues in UTCs
* Establish a cohesive team approach for workforce development
* Support service leads and managers with audits, innovation, and performance management
* Lead training needs discussions based on audits and staff knowledge gaps
* Assist in staff appraisals feedback
* Deputise for the GM when necessary
You will exercise high levels of judgment, discretion, and decision-making in providing clinical care to adults and children with undifferentiated diagnoses, including minor injuries and illnesses within a UTC setting.
You will use advanced clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management, leading quality improvements through audits, evidence-based practice, supervision, teaching, and leadership.
