An experienced Electronics Engineer to work within a growing electrical systems team as component owner for several sensors/actuators, supporting Global Diesel and alternative fuel ICE platforms (including Hydrogen), from concept to flawless launch, ensuring a robust system/component sign-off meeting all regulatory, quality, cost and timing requirements. Electronics Engineer Role: Engine and After-treatment ECU hardware specification and critique. System ownership of some powertrain sensors and actuators – primary contact with project design leads driving cross-functionally their integration and validation. Attend and report in maturity tracking meetings regularly. Liaise with Suppliers, Quality and Purchasing functions during supplier shortages to ensure no disruptions to current production. Support the functional testing of electrical, fuel ignition and electronic components and their validation to EMC, Electrical and Environmental test standards, responsible for relevant work product delivery to new product introduction gateways. Work with suppliers to deliver prototypes and PPAP parts to schedule, meeting quality and performance requirements including conducting supplier hardware design and manufacturing audits. Work closely with design functions responsible for wiring harness and connectors, ensuring successful integration of electrical components onto the engine and after-treatment hardware. Perform fault finding activities on Dyno/Machine applications and implementing corrective measures using 8D analysis. Electronics Engineer Requirements: A strong engineering background and a Degree/HND in Electronic/Systems Engineering or equivalent. Possess a sound knowledge of vehicle electrical systems architecture and powertrain based sensors/actuators. Knowledge of combustion, high voltage ignition systems and their testing. Have a sound grasp of the engine product development cycle, and expertise in engine system and component specification, design, development and sign-off (using relevant tools). Demonstrate the ability to diagnose, test and fault find electrical systems. Track record in managing product life cycle through design control process. Practical skills and experience with the use of electrical test equipment and Harness rework, Hil-rig and Dyno test bed software, CAN/LIN communication tools. Good verbal and written communication skills. A proactive, highly motivated Individual with a flexible/can-do attitude being able to deliver objectives independently and with minimum supervision amid changing scenarios. Desirable: Be able to understand, create and edit 3D models, wiring diagrams and schematics with a high degree of attention to detail. Direct experience of JCB PLM design systems and processes. Have a working knowledge of CAD (NX), PLM systems, and Zuken or Vesys. Experience of risk management, participating/constructing FMEA's through to DVPSOR. This role is also available at senior level.
