NATURAL SCIENCES and TECHNOLOGY TEACHER – January 2026
APPS is an independent girls’ preparatory school, from Grade 0 to 7. A school which is known for its innovative approach to education. Whilst innovation is at the core, tradition is crucial for our 104-year-old school.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic person of integrity and vision with strong interpersonal skills, ready to take responsibility for teaching Natural Sciences and Technology in Grades 6 & 7.
Consideration will only be given to Candidates who have the following:
* an appropriate university degree or professional qualification;
* excellent communication and strength in computer literacy;
* self-motivated, organised and have strong interpersonal and collaborative skills;
* minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching Natural Sciences;
* experience in IBL and STEAM education would be advantageous;
* understand, identify with and contribute to the Christian Ethos and values of the school;
* be in possession of a SACE Registration Certificate;
* be in possession of a clearance certificate in terms of the Sexual Offenders Act.
Undertake the following Responsibilities:
* teach Natural Sciences and Technology in a meaningful and supportive manner to Grade 6 & 7;
* mentor and guide the teaching of Natural Sciences throughout the school;
* help grow and develop the STEAM curriculum and participate in this collaborative space;
* participate in the school’s extramural programme.
Involvement in the School:
* attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings;
* participate actively in staff development initiatives;
* be present at parent-teacher meetings, school events, assemblies, and celebrations;
* share in the everyday duties and responsibilities that build a vibrant school community;
* uphold and model professional behaviour at all times.
Selected candidates will then be given a week to send a detailed CV, a letter of application, a copy of qualifications and the names of at least two referees.
