Job Summary
The Story Museum is looking for a part-time Head of Finance to manage the Museum's financial and reporting cycle and to provide accurate and timely data and analysis in support of our dynamic, sustainable business model. As an active member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Finance will contribute significantly to our financial strategy.
Job Description
Key responsibilities include driving the creation of the annual operational budget and financial forecasting for the charity and its subsidiary trading company, providing timely management accounts, and managing restricted project funds and capital budgets as required. The postholder will help continue to develop the Museum’s data-led analysis to inform ongoing business planning and options appraisals, as well as maintaining the necessary systems, policies, and procedures to ensure an effective and efficient finance function. This includes active management of the museum’s cash flow, responsibility for payroll and VAT returns, and all aspects of the charity’s statutory tax and financial regulatory reporting.
The successful candidate will need to be a full or part-qualified accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACA, or ACCA or equivalent qualification), with wide-ranging experience of financial management in a complex organisation with multiple income streams.
This is a part-time role at 0.6 FTE on a permanent contract. Salary: £40,000 pro rata.
