Conveyancing Legal Assistant
An experienced Conveyancing Legal Assistant is required to assist in their busy Conveyancing Department in the Winchester office at a private practice in the Winchester area.
The Firm
An established private practice offering a comprehensive legal service on a regional basis. The firm employs a healthy mix of experienced Lawyers. They have a friendly office atmosphere and thrive on providing excellent levels of client service.
The Role
The Conveyancing Legal Assistant will work with a Senior Conveyancing Fee Earner providing support on all aspects of residential conveyancing transactions from instructions through to post completion including typing correspondence.
The work will involve:
1. Prepare various legal documents, using digital dictation, as and when instructed
2. Making online searches and Land Registry applications
3. Liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents, and other organisations
4. Using the case management system
5. Opening paper and electronic files, scanning, and photocopying as and when required
The Candidate
A Conveyancing Legal Assistant will have previous conveyancing experience as a legal secretary or as a conveyancing legal assistant. The successful candidate will be required to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, good attention to detail with good keyboard and word processing skills, good numeracy skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Candidates must be positive, proactive, friendly, organised, a good team player, and able to work to deadlines and be a quick learner.
Salary: Up to £32,000 with parking within a short walk of the office in the centre of Winchester.
Full-time hours: 37.5 per week
