Role summaryThe Post Production Engineering intern placement is a 12 month contract for undergraduate students studying a relevant discipline. The Post Production Engineering Intern is responsible for assisting the established engineering dept in installing, commissioning and maintaining all technical equipment, data storage and networking used across the Post Production department. They work closely with the Post Production Engineers and Technical Operations Manager to ensure all technical issues are resolved to a high standard and in a timely manner.This role will be expected to start summer 2025.Principle accountabilitiesImplements and maintains the Post Production systems across all Post Production business linesGathers requirements and work with the Technical Operations Manager to implement improvements to ensure the Post Production technical installations are up to date and in line with developments in Post Production TechnologyEnsures all Sound Mixing Theatres and Editorial Suites are correctly alignedResponsible for all technical preventative and reactive maintenance across both group sitesResponsible for ensuring the data storage and networking in Post Production is correctly configured and fully functionalEnsures all systems are correctly configured to be compliant with current content security policiesEnsures all projectors are correctly alignedEnsures all equipment is asset tagged and maintain equipment inventory databaseCollectively responsible with other Post Production Engineers for managing Engineering Support ticketing system and analysing collected data to proactively spot issue trends and suggest appropriate preventative actionWorks closely with the Technical Operations Manager to research, plan, budget and deliver Engineering projects interfacing with all internal and external stakeholders as necessaryCarries out support Engineer tasks as directed by the Technical Operations ManagerNature and scopeThe Post Production Engineering Intern provides specialist technical support to the Post Production Team and is responsible for the successful installation and maintenance of technical equipment and data infrastructure across all areas of Post Production. These include:5 Dolby ATMOS Mixing Theatres (Theatrical and Home Entertainment)12 7.1 Mixing Theatres11 Sound Editorial SuitesData Networks and Servers8 Technical machine rooms2 Screening roomsThe role would work with the Post Production Team to ensure that the facilities are running on well maintained and fully functional state-of-the-art technology. Typically, this can require some planning, up to 12 months, to ensure that proactive upgrades and advancements are booked in around the teambusy working schedules. The planning will be done working closely with the Technical Operations Manager, the Engineering dept and any other key stakeholders in the Post Production Team including the Post Production Director. They would also be required to react to any operationally urgent technological support, working alongside Post Production engineers, mixing \/ editing staff and scheduling team.The incumbent would be seen as a specialist in installing, commissioning, and maintaining the equipment working with other members of the Engineering team to help resolve technical issues.Versatility is a key attribute to this role and any applicant will be expected to demonstrate a good level of engineering fault finding on a full range of Post Production and cinema systems within a pressurised environment.
