Jeremy France Jewellers has been established in Winchester for over 30 years and is now in the capable hands of the second generation, Harriet and Chris. Chris is our Goldsmith and Workshop Manager and Harriet our Managing Director. We pride ourselves on our quality of service, repairs and manufacturing, and many clients visit specifically because of our on-site workshop. Bespoke designs and remodelling client’s jewellery is a large part of our business and brings customers from many miles away.
We have an on-site team of 25 with 5 Goldsmiths in a fully equipped workshop with separate polishing room, setting bench and 2 lazers. We have won many awards over the years including Employer of the Year, Service Excellence Award and Fine Jewellery Retailer of the Year.
The Role
Ideally, we are looking for someone with at least 3 years of goldsmithing experience – this is not an apprentice position.
Excellent salary paid for the right applicant.
A typical day would include:
* Communicating with colleagues about jobs
* Sizing rings purchased within an hour or two
* Tightening loose stones
* Cleaning/polishing rings whilst customers wait
* Varied repairs including chain repairs, sizing, new shanks, claw work, bezel rebuilds etc.
* Manufacturing new items from new metal and clients' gold
* Assembling and finishing castings
* Quality checking own work to an exceptional standard
* Managing own workload to tight deadlines
* Working with colleagues to maintain workshop standards
Job Type: Part-time Goldsmith, 3 days
Salary: Based on experience
