Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Best Interest Assessor/Social Worker within the Deprivation of Liberty Service to work Part Time (18 Hours) based in Bromley.
The salary for this Best Interest Assessor/Social Worker job is up to £49,078 per annum.
Main duties:
* To undertake Mental Capacity and Best Interests Assessments for Bromley Council Residents within the meaningful of the relevant legislation Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty.
* To reach decisions and make recommendations to the Local Authority as to whether arrangements for care and treatment of a person in a care home or hospital requires authorisation under Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
* To undertake DoLS review when requested by Managing Authority or RPR and make professional recommendations as appropriate.
* To prioritise and respond to urgent referrals in a timely manner without breaching statutory deadlines.
* To assess, write reports and present relevant cases to the Court of Protection where necessary for Deprivation of Liberty cases to be determined.
* To work in partnership with all internal and external professionals and organisations involved in the assessment and service provision through effective communication and consultation networks ensuring a coordinated response to service users and carers.
* To coordinate, participate and, where appropriate, chair meetings with representatives from managing authorities, families and other professionals.
* To provide professional advice and expertise to less experienced staff e.g. Administrative Staff, Students and other colleagues.
* To participate in providing advice on BIA practice issues within Adult Social Service, i.e. involvement in training and development and dissemination of up-to-date DoLS legislative information.
* To undertake safeguarding investigations, ensuring that the Council’s safeguarding policy and procedures are adhered to whilst working with vulnerable adults and children and undertaking investigations as required.
* To undertake available training opportunities including refresher and demonstrate a commitment to continuous development, to maximise potential and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of service.
* To participate in training supervision and appraisal process and support in supervising junior team colleagues and students. To show commitment to establishing an effective supervision relationship with supervisor and supervisees.
* To undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Department/Section.
Requirements of this Best Interest Assessor/Social Worker job:
* A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
