We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect to enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of our database infrastructure. This role will involve optimizing our Microsoft SQL-based database, designing and implementing new database solutions. A critical focus will be on supporting the migration of reporting to a data warehouse, ensuring robust data architecture that supports both current operations and future growth. Key Responsibilities: Optimize Microsoft SQL database performance, including query tuning and stored procedure refactoring. Redesign and normalize database schemas to improve data integrity and efficiency. Diagnose and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks. Support the migration of data to a data warehouse within Microsoft Fabric for advanced reporting and analytics. Develop ETL pipelines to support seamless data migration and transformation. Document database architectures, processes, and migration workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical mentorship on database best practices. Technical skills Over 7 years designing and building SQL Server databases. Strong expertise in stored procedures, query optimization, and database tuning. Proficiency in Entity Framework and Microsoft SQL. Knowledge of database security principles, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning. Experience in data warehouse design and ETL processes, particularly with Microsoft Fabric. Experience using optimising Query Execution Plans to optimise performance. Experience with Microsoft C# and Entity Framework, a software developer background is preferred.
