My client is currently looking for a Finance Officer to join their growing and well-established company based in Middlesbrough. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, where you will play a key role in supporting the finance function. As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth financial operations, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and supporting key financial tasks such as month-end reporting and HMRC returns. You will also provide administrative support to the team, ensuring efficiency and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Answering phone calls and responding to emails Processing sales and purchase invoices in Xero Reconciling bank transactions and credit card charges Managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely collections Supporting month-end P&L completion Processing Direct Debits Assisting in budget coordination, financial forecasting, and variance reporting Supporting the submission of HMRC returns Assisting with payroll processing Providing general administrative support and covering policy/compliance tasks during leave periods Requirements: Basic finance qualifications (desired but not essential) Experience with Xero (desirable but not essential) Confident customer-facing skills Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Efficient time management and the ability to work under pressure A proactive approach with a desire to show initiative Role details: Location: Middlesbrough (Office-based with free parking) Hours: Monday-Friday, full-time Salary: £24,000 - £24,500 (Based on experience) This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a supportive and growing company.
