An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Portfolio Cost Reporting Analyst to join our Procurement and Commercial team to support our SSEN Transmission business.
SSEN Transmission is at the heart of the just transition to net zero in the UK. In the coming years, our network will be pivotal in connecting and transporting the power needed to decarbonise the UKs electricity network and in doing so power the UKs net-zero and energy security ambitions. Our business is rapidly growing, to deliver the largest investment package that Scotlands electricity system has ever seen, with a projected investment programme of over £20bn+ in the next 10 years. This role will support the delivery of this ambitious investment programme.
The role will be responsible for Portfolio Reporting and Cost Analysis activities within our Networks Transmission business. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with advanced analytical skills and an understanding of cost management/commercial/contractual processes. To successfully operate within a regulated business environment, we are required to monitor, control, analyse and report on all commercial aspects across the portfolio - key responsibilities include:
You will
1. Champion advanced data analytics and reporting across the portfolio - this includes areas such as Portfolio Cost Reporting and Phasing, linkage of Cost and Programme data, Trend Analysis, Accruals, Risk, etc.
2. Leading on Portfolio Reporting and Cost Analysis activities - this includes policies, procedures, reporting and analytics. Leveraging data and industry trends/benchmarks to validate data and improve accuracy.
3. Providing leadership and direction for Portfolio Reporting and Cost Analysis activities along with maintaining and advancing relationships with stakeholders - ensuring alignment with Finance, Delivery, Project Services, etc.
4. Advance and refine strategic objectives within the Portfolio Reporting and Cost Analysis area - striving to provide the optimum service to stakeholders.
5. Develop and enhance current systems and processes to ensure efficiency and consistency. Along with leading continuous improvement activities within the business - identifying and developing innovative methods for improving processes and techniques.
1. Demonstrate experience and advanced competency in cost control, data analytics and reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
2. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with an ability to liaise with all levels of the business.
3. Demonstrate experience and advanced competency in digital tools such as Power BI, Excel, PowerApps and Analytics Software.
4. Proficient in interpreting datasets and deriving actionable insights.
5. Knowledge and experience in contract/commercial management and its influence on project costs.

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
