We have an exciting opportunity for a None Medical Endoscopist at Salford Endoscopy Unit.
The successful candidate will be required to work as an independent expert practitioner who is competent in both upper and lower endoscopy procedures.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work alongside other Endoscopists working at Salford and will work independently as an expert practitioner, exercising advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion, and decision-making in the clinical area.
The post holder will provide expert clinical skills and advice demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues related to the identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of the client group.
The post holder will monitor and lead improvements to standards of care through supervision of practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues, and the provision of skilled professional leadership. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), provide specialist advice on the management of patients as delegated by the consultant team.
The post holder will lead the implementation of relevant research into practice, contributing to the further development of the evidence base through research and audit.
The post holder will contribute to clinical governance within the service by leading audit and research as part of the MDT within the area of expertise. The post holder will be an integral part of the training and education of other endoscopists.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified Non Medical Endoscopist
* Speciality related masters degree
* Competent in performing OGD's, flexible sigmoidoscopies and colonoscopies
* Train the trainer for Endoscopy
Additional Qualifications
* None Medical Prescriber
* Completed the conscious sedation course

* Recognised post graduate teaching qualification
Assessment
* Must satisfy the JAG outcomes
