PensionBee is growing at scale and we need a Technical Investment Specialist to support our business with investment content creation for internal and external audiences.
About the role
This is a new role, working alongside the Chief Engagement Officer, to create new investment content and analysis, for our business, our customers and for the wider group pension savers across the UK, who numbered 1.6 million in unique views across our blog and Pensions Explained Centre over the last 12 months.
The right candidate will take pride in their ability to share their technical knowledge in a way that helps us translate complex financial and investing concepts to our pension customers, to help us fulfil our mission of making the UK pension confident!
Our Technical Investment Specialist will support with the production of materials for our Investment Committee, Board, with our Consumer Duty and Value for Money reporting. In 2025 this role will also support us with the production of a new customer video series, and with the Press and Broadcast media teams in their outreach work.
Owing to that, this is a role that offers broad exposure to many areas of our business, our Board of directors, the Press team and spokespeople, our Customer Success teams, also known as our BeeKeepers, plus the Product, Resolution, Marketing and Compliance teams.

Key responsibilities
1. Producing materials for our Board and Investment Committee, including but not limited to ongoing value comparison of our plan range and product, ongoing market analysis, price and performance analysis and other investment related items.
2. Working with the Chief Engagement Officer on our value for money analysis as part of our Consumer Duty Price and Value and Governance Advisory Arrangement work.
3. Working with the Chief Engagement Officer and Content team on the production of a new investment focused video series.
4. Supporting the Press team and PensionBee Spokespeople with investment related stories, press releases and market commentary.
5. Supporting customer facing teams across the business with investment related updates, investigations and during periods of market volatility.
The key skills required are:
1. At least 3 years direct experience working in pensions and/or investments industry.
2. Technical knowledge of investments, including but not limited to financial asset classes and markets, structure of main pension vehicles and how they are traded, regulatory framework of UK financial services and how wider macro-economic trends impact UK pensions.
3. Familiarity with FCA Handbook, COBS, Consumer Duty and Value for Money work.
4. Excellent attention to detail.
5. Clear written and spoken English.
6. Strong communication skills, taking technical concepts and helping to explain them to someone who is not familiar with the detail.
7. Organised self-starter who is able to work independently but also a team player who wants to be part of a team that is passionate about good customer outcomes.
We don’t need you to have a degree or specialist investment qualifications for this role, however your technical knowledge will be tested both in the written task and during the interview.
