Be part of a dynamic central team of coordinators looking after medical staffing for three divisions within Salford Royal.
This is a demanding role and requires an enthusiastic, committed individual who wants to make a difference and play a crucial role in ensuring safe staffing across our medical services.
The ideal candidate would be caring, supportive and willing to work within the central team proving help and advice to operational teams, all resident doctors and colleagues at all levels across the NCA.
The main purpose of the job is planning and booking of locum doctors in line with Standard Operating Procedures and NCA policies to meet the needs of the service and Processing and monitoring Medical Staff Absences and associated expenses (where applicable) in line with policies and procedures.

• Provide information and advice when dealing with enquiries
• Liaise with Departmental Managers and Workforce Co-ordinators regarding locum requests for medical staff
• Develop and maintain an internal locum bank of junior doctors and proactively work to cover gaps in the rota
• Work with NHS Professionals – Doctors Direct and department managers to ensure Working Time Directive is effectively monitored for NHSP activity
• Work with departments to identify service gaps and plan/initiate acquisition of any locum doctors
• Explore all opportunities when filling rota gaps to ensure minimum locum agency staff are utilised
• Liaise with locum agencies
• Work with Divisional Teams
• Provide cover for team members during absence
• Action accruals on a weekly basis
• Prepare Induction Packs and IT requests for locum doctors and monitor induction compliance.
• Assist in the induction programme for new recruits
• Record absence for medical staff and monitor leave taken
• Respond to all queries regarding annual leave, study leave and expenses, keep medical staff up to date on leave taken and to advise
• To participate in the authorisation of carry forward of remaining leave and to assist with the calculation and validation of outstanding/overtaken leave for leavers
• To authorise, process and validate study leave expense claim forms
• Liaise with the Payroll Dept regarding unpaid/queried expenses
• Manage the cancellation of annual and study leave
