If you have highly effective secretarial and typing skills, there is an opportunity to join the Cardiology Nurse Specialist & Audit Admin team as a Support Co-ordinator.
To provide a comprehensive and efficient administrative service to the nurse specialists & audit co-ordinator, ensuring all work is prioritised according to the demands of the service.
The post holder will assist the nurse specialists with referral registration, managing appointments, booking follow-up appointments in line with the patient access policy, clinic preparation, clinic reception and outcome/coding, handling patient queries and typing clinic letters. The post holder will also collate audit data on a monthly basis.
The post holder will be required to work as part of a team, alongside the clinical staff and the audit co-ordinator, to deliver the highest standards of administrative support for all patients and staff.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an individual who has the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and clinical staff.
Previous secretarial/administration experience and excellent typing skills are essential. Previous experience of using Careflow, alongside knowledge of medical terminology, is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be given to the successful candidate.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To ensure the effective delivery of the Cardiology Nurse Specialist (CNS) service by providing clerical, organisational, administrative, analytical and secretarial support to the Cardiology Nurse Specialists.
The post holder will provide comprehensive efficient secretarial support to the Heart Failure Nurse Specialists and Arrhythmia/Device Nurse Specialist (CNS) to enable them to meet the needs of the service.
To support the Cardiology Audit Co-ordinator to record service outcomes facilitating both Trust and National audits by measuring standards outlined in the National Service Framework for Cardiology, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence.
The post holder will assist the Cardiology Audit Co-ordinator primarily in the collection, analysis and reporting of data for the following areas: acute coronary syndromes & heart failure.
Using a variety of cardiac patient information systems such as the Myocardial Ischaemia National Audit Programme (MINAP), National Heart Failure Audit (NHFA), and National Institute for Cardiovascular Outcomes Research (NICOR) the successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining a summary of all the data and data analysis results in order to support the Cardiology Nurse Specialists and Cardiology Audit Co-ordinator in their role.

Person specification
* Good evidence of general education including Maths and English passes.
* Experience of working in Healthcare.
* Previous experience in office management, ordering stationery and typing.
* Experience of data collection and general knowledge of databases.
* Experience of office administration, making appointments and diary management.
* Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
* Ability to undertake long periods of screen and keyboard use.
* RSA II typing NVQ.
* NHS secretarial experience & working knowledge of NHS systems, e.g. BigHand/Careflow.
* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Knowledge/use of NICOR databases.
