Our client is seeking a Management Accountant to join its team and provide essential financial support to its manufacturing operations. Role Overview The Management Accountant will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making across the business. With a focus on costings and manufacturing processes, you will provide analysis and reporting to help improve profitability and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Costing Analysis : Develop and maintain accurate costing models for manufacturing operations. Analyse production costs, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions. Provide insights into pricing strategies to ensure product profitability. Management Accounts : Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Conduct variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and actual performance. Present financial reports to senior management, highlighting trends and key insights. Budgeting and Forecasting : Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing actionable recommendations. Operational Finance Support : Work closely with production and operations teams to optimise manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste. Support stock valuation, inventory control, and work-in-progress (WIP) analysis. Ensure accurate reporting of fixed assets and capital expenditure. Continuous Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function and manufacturing operations. Promote best practices in cost management and financial reporting. Compliance and Controls : Ensure adherence to financial controls and compliance with relevant accounting standards. Liaise with external auditors and support statutory reporting requirements. Key Skills and Qualifications Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent experience. Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of cost accounting principles. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present insights. Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Excel. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
