Integration and Support Engineer (on site Hook)

Role overview
Windows Integration engineer to work on several build and/or support projects ranging from the development of secure Windows solutions to regular software patching for a few existing support projects. The build projects cover development, build, configuration, and testing of laptops that contain both COTS and bespoke applications from multiple vendors. The Support projects cover answering user queries, logging faults, and providing first line support over the telephone, along with the download, image preparation, and testing of updates prior to distribution to the end user.
Responsibilities
1. Installation of Operating System and required application software packages.
2. Implement Security tools and practices.
3. Ensure configuration and backup of Support Servers.
4. Provision of system updates for the Operating System and software to the latest releases, patches, etc.
5. Technical Support to Customer.
6. Support to new and existing Team Members.
Essential Skills
1. Windows Operating Systems (preferably Windows 10, but Windows 7 or Server 2012 onwards would suffice).
2. Knowledge and understanding of Windows Group Policy Objects.
3. Knowledge of system testing, configuration management, and quality assurance best practices.
4. Ability to fault find low level hardware and software issues.
Other Skills
1. Networking.
2. Scripting – for use in automation of installation tasks (PowerShell).
3. Understanding of security requirements and lockdown processes for classified systems.
