We are a well-established accountancy practice looking for a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant with a minimum of 2 year's experience to join our Bishop's Stortford office. The applicant would be required to maintain client financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. We are looking for someone with an aptitude for figures, strong accuracy and attention to detail to support the team with the day-to-day bookkeeping for our clients. Key Responsibilities Raising sales invoices on behalf of various clients. Maintenance of sales and purchase ledgers Posting of bank transactions and subsequent bank reconciliations. Making bank payments on behalf of clients. Preparation and submission of VAT returns Liaising with clients and answering their queries. Production of reports for financial analysis. Requirements Minimum of 2 years accounts experience. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles. Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records. Excellent data entry skills and a flair for numbers. Proficiency in English and MS Office Experience with spreadsheets High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Good interpersonal skills for dealing with clients and other employees Knowledge of payroll helpful but not required Good communication skills Please include your expected salary upon application.
