Would you like the opportunity to work in a specialist Veteran mental health team?
We are seeking a temporary experienced and compassionate Psychologist or Psychological Therapist to join our lively mental health team supporting veterans and reservists presenting with mental health problems and their families. Some of our team have a personal connection to veterans, either with a military background or holding a close relationship with someone who does.
You would become an integral part of a small specialist psychological therapies team who provide expert care to veterans dealing with trauma and other associated mental health difficulties. You would support veterans who have found it difficult to get their needs met within mainstream NHS mental health services.
We cover Kent, Surrey and Sussex and offer virtual and in-person psychological therapy across all the counties.
Main duties of the job
This exciting role will involve working with a degree of autonomy alongside providing the opportunity to work as a member of the clinical service/team, providing a high quality, specialist applied psychology service to clients, their families or carers.
In addition, to support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training and by participating in systematic clinical governance.
To utilise research skills for audit, service development and research within the area served by the team/service.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Recognised/accredited postgraduate level training in CBT as specified in the Appendices
2. Professionally registered as specified in the same Appendix
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
1. Substantial post-qualification/accreditation experience of specialist psychological therapy (assessment, formulation and treatment), maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
2. A high level of competence in applying a psychological therapy to complex difficulties appropriate for this therapy with the client group, and a proven track record of delivering positive outcomes in this therapy
3. Experience of offering teaching, training and supervision within a demanding organisational context
4. A clear and theoretically informed approach to supervision
5. Experience of representing psychological therapy within the context of multi-disciplinary care within a complex organisational context
6. Significant experience of working with the particular client group served by the team/service
7. Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to the client group
8. A high-level specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapy as specified in the same appendix, as applied to the client group using this service.
9. Experience of the application of psychological therapy in different cultural contexts and experience of working within a multicultural framework
10. Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the professional registration/accrediting body specified in the same appendix
