Science Teacher – Permanent Role in Burnley (BB12)
An Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Burnley is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and implementing targeted interventions where necessary
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Science department to develop high-quality schemes of work and share best teaching practices
* Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for Science
* Contribute to the wider school community by supporting extracurricular activities, science clubs, and school events
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement in line with school policies
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
* A degree in Science or a related subject
* Experience teaching Science at secondary level, with the ability to deliver lessons across different disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for education
