Part-time Description POSITION SUMMARY Perform production work based on assigned projects. May inspect product for quality compliance. Act as a model worker/mentor for Production Associates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS Perform production tasks following detailed instructions. Perform defined routine duties according to quantity and quality goals. May require repeating motor actions for extended periods. Assist in training Associates and Clients on new tasks or to improve quality/quantity of output. Follow applicable quality procedures and work instructions; always be aware of safety and immediately report any unsafe working conditions to the supervisor or administration. Report all accidents or incidents within 1 hour to supervisor or administration. Move and handle production supplies as required. Move and transport materials and finished product between work areas and dock areas as needed. Perform material handling duties requiring basic use of hand jacks, bailer, banding machine. Conduct repetitive inspections following standardized methods. Visually inspect parts and kits for missing parts, defects, product damage or visual quality problems under direction of Production Supervisor or Department Coordinator. Counting and recording duties for verification purposes. Assist with checking of Production Associate’s and/or Client’s work for needed re-work. Assist with keeping work area clean and orderly; maintain all property, equipment, tools and products in good condition. Regular attendance is required. Assistants will exhibit exemplary attendance; they will schedule time off in advance greater than 90% of the time and regularly report to work 5 minutes early. They will not have more than one incidence of tardiness per pay period. Assistants will be a mentor to Associates and Clients helping them to understand work rules, workplace safety, and why attendance and good work performance is important. They will model good work behaviors, appropriate work language and follow all personal appearance guidelines. Observe work flow and notify Supervisor in advance when self or others need more product or next assignment. For material deemed as hazardous waste collect and label material and place in designated containers. Containers should be properly stored with no evidence of leaking materials. Wrap hazardous waste material and move to central accumulation area from satellite accumulation area. Review shipping documents and load material on transport truck. Follow site emergency response procedures. Participate in DECI-sponsored training as assigned Other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Successful performance as either a Production Associate work for a minimum of 6 months. Must exhibit above average attendance and timeliness in reporting to work. Prefer high school diploma or GED. Ability to understand differences between mentoring and supervising and who to alert when concerns are noted. Ability to work cooperatively with staff and clients. Reading, counting, sorting, & recording skills to perform inspection tasks.
