I am working on an exciting opportunity which will suit a dynamic media professional ready to make a lasting impact and drive change within a purpose-driven organisation.
My client are seeking a Senior Media Officer to join them on a 6-8 months FTC, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
You’ll be at the forefront, crafting compelling press releases, securing high-profile media coverage, and handling both proactive and reactive media inquiries. Your efforts will directly support the organisation’s strategic objective by ensuring media activities align with key campaigns and policy priorities. Additionally, you’ll play a key role in media planning, delivering expert briefings, and collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure consistent and impactful messaging across both digital and traditional media channels.
* Salary: £37,000 - £40,000
* You will be required to spend 1 day per week at the HQ in Oxfordshire and 1/2 days at the office in London/at events. The rest of the week can be spent working from home. Candidates who can drive are preferred as public transport is limited to the HQ.

About you
* 3+ years of media relations & press office experience.
* Degree-level qualification is preferred, however my client favours experience.
* You should possess exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics into engaging, newsworthy content.
* Strong networking abilities are essential, along with experience building relationships with journalists and key stakeholders.
* A track record of meeting tight deadlines is crucial, as is a keen awareness of emerging media trends.
* While experience in a trade association, horticulture, or a related sector is beneficial, what truly matters is a passion for shaping public discourse and driving meaningful impact within the industry.
* Knowledge or passion for gardening, horticulture, or environmental policy.
* Interested in current affairs.
