Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Design Coordinator for a role working on CP7 framework in the Bristol/Swindon area. Role is with a Tier 1 contractor working on long term projects as part of this new control period. They are open to contract or permanent candidates. Ideal candidate would be part of a large team working on rail and civil engineering works. Responsibilities: Primary focus will be on coordination and management of designers to deliver schemes effectively with the rail and civil engineering portfolio of infrastructure projects Work closely with engineering manager and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. Design Oversight: Monitor and oversee design progress against schedule and budget, implementing corrective measures for any identified issues. Change Management: Review, negotiate, and recommend approval or disapproval of design change orders while ensuring compliance with scope adjustments. Liaison and Reporting: Establish formal communication with and provide progress reports to Design, Business Development, Estimating, Planning, Operations, and Commercial teams. Subcontract Administration: Manage design subcontract including processing monthly invoices for payment and coordinating design incentive/disincentive programs. Design Submission Coordination: Ensure timely and accurate submission of design documents for owner approval and facilitate resolution of design issues. Risk Identification: Identify changes in scope and document necessary change orders, including early warning and change instruction documentation. Constructability Reviews: Collaborate in the review of constructability, value engineering, and contractor preferences throughout the project lifecycle. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practices in design coordination. Project Close-Out Support: Assist in the project handback process to ensure a smooth close-out of projects. Experience/Qualifications: Educational Background: A degree in a rail or civil engineering discipline. Professional Membership: Membership of an Engineering Institution providing Chartered Engineer status (or nearing this status). Relevant Experience: Prior experience as a Design Coordinator within a rail contracting environment, particularly in civil engineering. Process Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of design delivery processes and the management of design consultants. Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of commercial engagement and contractual management related to design consultancy. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with CDM regulations and understanding the roles of designers and principal contractors.What is on offer: Competitive salary negotiable based on experience.
