This is a great opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join one of Scotland's top 100 businesses in their Glasgow office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to hone their engineering skills on bespoke, technically challenging design and construct projects in specialist and regulated markets, working directly with world-leading end-user clients.
Role
* Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems.
* Preparation and review of documentation e.g., designs, specifications, assessment reports, survey reports.
* Managing the production of detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools.
* Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site works.
* Implementation of detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to establish the status of existing installations and gain sufficient information to recommend new/upgrade design proposals.
* Assisting with the development of junior engineers.
* Report and technical note writing.
Qualifications / Experience
* Degree qualified or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
* Ideally chartered or working towards this with CIBSE or IET.
* 5-10 years of experience working in a design consultancy or a similar environment.
* Knowledge of mechanical design within the built environment.
* Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients.
* Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards, able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, and act on own initiative.
* Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as IES thermal modelling package, Microsoft packages, CAD.
