Job Overview
We are excited to be offering a permanent, 0.8 wte 8a Senior Clinical Psychology post, specialising in Early Years and Parental Support, for suitably qualified, skilled and experienced applicants, in the CAMHS team covering Gwynedd and Anglesey. We are a friendly, experienced and dynamic multi-disciplinary team based in a beautiful part of North Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
We would also welcome applications from suitably qualified Clinical Psychologists looking to progress to a Senior Clinical Psychologist role. In this situation, the successful candidate will be appointed into a development post at Band 7, and on commencing the post will set a learning development plan with their mentor to achieve specific competencies within an appropriate timescale. This is likely to be a period of between 6 months and 2 years for completion depending on current skills and experience. Promotion to 8a post would happen on successful completion of the plan.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work across Tier 2 and Tier 3, providing specialist support to those working with children 0-7 and their families. There will also be a role to develop parental support within Tier 3 CAMHS, covering children up to 18 years of age, where the young person has severe mental health difficulties. The post holder will conduct assessments and consultations, develop working formulations, and will offer appropriate interventions to young children and/or their parents and carers. Additionally they will offer consultation to other agencies who work in the early years field, such as schools and health visitors. They will work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team, and will offer consultation and supervision to their colleagues as appropriate. They would be expected to take opportunities to display leadership in relation to service improvement initiatives, and would also be supported in conducting appropriate audits and research. There will also be an expectation to be involved in the teaching and supervision of trainees on the North Wales Clinical Psychology programme.

Essential criteria
* DClinPsy or equivalent
Desirable criteria
* Qualifications or relevant courses completed in areas relevant to the post eg. Video Interaction Guidance, Trauma Informed approaches to development, Circle of Security etc
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience in working directly and indirectly with young children and their caregivers
* Experience in developing psychological formulations from multiple, theoretical perspectives
Desirable criteria
* Experience in offering consultations to professionals
* Experience in offering individual and group based interventions for parents
Knowledge
Essential Criteria
* Excellent knowledge of psychological/theoretical models of early development, behaviourism and trauma/inter-generational trauma
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of different models of intervention for parents of young children and adolescents
* Ability to speak Welsh
