Scantec are working in partnership with a leading Food Manufacturer at their site in Manchester to assist them in finding a Quality Supervisor to join their Quality team. Working hours:
Days, Monday to Friday, 8am – 4.30pm
Role Summary:
In this role you would report to the Technical Manager and supervise a small QAteam and their performance. You will work closely with the Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain function and focus on product quality, completion of audits, calibrations and investigations. It’s a varied and fast paced role where the successful candidate will need to have good leadership, time management and organisational skills.
Quality Supervisor – Summary of responsibilities:
* Deal with holds, concessions and near miss investigations for metal detection & corrective actions
* Ensure that investigations are conducted thoroughly, identifying the root causes and implementing corrective actions accordingly.
* Ensure that regular internal audits are conducted, covering areas such as CCPs, hygiene, documentation, GMP, foreign bodies, glass, PPE, and allergens.
* Manage schedules and rota for the Quality Auditors anddeputise for the Technical Manager. You may be required to cover QA holidays and sickness as relevant
* Work closely with Operations, to investigate customer complaints to determine the root cause, providing feedback to the appropriate teams and implementing relevant corrective actions.
* Carry out routine quality assurance testing and monitoring throughout the manufacturing process to ensure information on product quality is continually fed back to the appropriate management teams.
* Ensure that processes and products throughout the factory and those leaving site comply with agreed specifications with regards to quality and food safety.
* Assist the Technical Manager in maintaining the site's BRC certification and QMS management EG document control.
Required skills & experience:
We’re looking for a candidate with good QA experience from within the food manufacturing / processing industry. Ideally some experience of supervising a team. You’ll need a can-do attitudeexcellent attention to detail. We’re seeking somebody who can work cross-functionally with great communication skills, able to build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Ideally you will also have the following knowledge & skills:
* Knowledge of BRC and Customers Codes of Practice
* Competent in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
* An awareness of allergen controls
* Level 2 Food Hygiene (desirable but not essential)
* Level 2 HACCP (desirable but not essential)
