Home Emergency Alarm Response Team Responder (Temporary Contract) Location: Doncaster Contract: Temporary – 3 months (with potential for extension) Hours: Average of 26.25 hours per week Rota: 3 days on / 3 days off Shifts: 6:00am–2:00pm or 2:00pm–10:00pm Start Date: As soon as possible About the Role Doncaster Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Emergency Alarm Response Team Responder to join our vital community-based service on an initial 3-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension. This rewarding role involves responding to emergency alarm activations from vulnerable residents across the borough, ensuring they receive timely support, care, and reassurance. Key Responsibilities Respond promptly to emergency alarm calls in residents’ homes. Provide immediate support, assess needs, and escalate concerns appropriately. Communicate effectively with emergency services, family members, and healthcare professionals. Complete clear and accurate reports following each incident. Support residents with compassion, dignity, and respect at all times.Working Pattern 3 days on, 3 days off rota Shifts are either: 6:00am – 2:00pm 2:00pm – 10:00pm Average 26.25 hours per weekRequirements Full UK driving licence (essential) Experience working with vulnerable adults—particularly older people or those with additional needs. Confidence to work independently and make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations. Calm, compassionate, and professional demeanour.
