Mobile Garage Door Repair Engineer
Salary: £40,000 + Door to door + Commission
Location: Edinburgh / Glasgow
Working Hours: Monday – Friday - DAYS
My client, a Specialist Mechanical Door Engineering Company, is looking for a qualified and experienced Engineer to join their fitter team.
The Garage Door Engineer must have an excellent understanding of all types of garage doors.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Repairing all different manufacturers' door types.
2. The ability to diagnose and upsell the correct parts to repair the existing garage door.
3. A good understanding of the current manufacturers' price guide.
4. Leasing with other parts of the organization to provide support with any technical queries.
5. Warranty work for the manufacturing group.
6. Assisted site training for trade customers.
7. Communicate with customers face to face or via telephone to resolve any potential installation issues.
8. All work to be signed off by the customer on completion; demonstration/hand-over required after each job.
9. Competence in using sealant/mastic and other materials such as timber & UPVC.
10. Work carried out efficiently and to a high level, reducing remedials/call backs.
11. Daily collection of materials from local merchants (i.e., UPVC and timber).
12. All customers to be given an ETA before arrival.
13. Any discrepancies must be reported to your line manager before leaving the site.
14. As a customer-facing representative of the company, you are expected to be well presented at all times; full uniform must be worn and kept clean and presentable, including safety boots.
15. Company vehicle to be maintained in accordance with the vehicle procedure.
16. Vehicles are to be kept clean at all times.
17. Safe loading is the driver’s responsibility and must be done securely and safely without causing damage to the vehicle or the goods.
18. While loading and unloading, general waste skips are provided and must be loaded in a cost-effective manner.
19. All steel/old doors are sent back to the manufacturer for recycling (stillage’s are provided).
20. Any double doors must be cut in half to be placed on the stillage’s.
21. General housekeeping is expected, including cleaning up after yourself and assisting in the warehouse.
