This permanent role has a starting salary of £52,047 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

About the Team
The Public Health and Communities Team sits within the Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships Directorate and contributes towards the Health and Wellbeing Strategy, to reduce health inequalities so no one is left behind. The Public Health team is made up of a variety of different roles, working collectively to reduce health inequalities and improve the health of Surrey's population.
About the Role
Surrey County Council is dedicated to improving public health outcomes through innovative strategies and collaborative efforts. We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Public Health Programme Lead to oversee our food strategy and workforce development initiatives. The successful applicant will:
* Line manage the Public Health Lead
* Lead the programme management and coordination of Whole System Surrey Food Strategy workstreams, working with a broad range of stakeholders
* Have oversight of Food Partnership, leading on the planning of quarterly meetings, progress monitoring and reporting to the relevant boards
* Lead the development of local evidence base and support the evaluation of projects related to the whole system food strategy
* Build and maintain partnerships across Surrey with Local Authorities, health, voluntary and private sectors
In addition to the Food Strategy Programme Management, this role will lead on Public Health Workforce Development (PHWD). You will be working closely with the School of Public Health and support the Public Health Principal in development and implementation of a local public health workforce development strategy.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
* BSc Degree in Public Health or equivalent
* Registered Public Health Practitioner (or working towards registration)
* Significant proven track record of application Public Health core skills e.g. evidence review, health needs assessment
* Extensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures relating to programme management
* Proven written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with established negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners/professionals
