Job Description About the Role We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Studio Technical Coordinator to join our team at Next’s Buzz Studio. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Technical Studio Coordinator to manage all digital and technical aspects of the studio, ensuring smooth operations and efficient workflows. Your contributions will be essential in enhancing studio efficiency, from equipment management to fostering better communication across teams, as well as supporting on-location shoots. Key Responsibilities Technical Operations Management: Oversee all technical operations within the studio, ensuring workflows are efficient and adhere to quality standards. Equipment Inventory & Accessibility: Manage and maintain an organised inventory system, ensuring equipment availability and easy accessibility for all studio teams. System Maintenance & Support: Ensure all studio systems operate at peak efficiency, addressing and rectifying issues promptly to meet business objectives. Maintenance Schedule: Implement and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all studio equipment, including learning and performing basic repairs as needed. Image Workflow Management: Oversee image workflows throughout the studios, ensuring smooth transitions and timely outputs. End-User Support: Provide desktop support for Mac users within the studio, troubleshooting technical issues to minimise downtime. System Architecture & Administration: Assist in managing and maintaining system architecture and serve as the primary contact for system administration. Reporting & Documentation: Create reports to inform senior management of technical progress and any issues. Digital Operator Backup: Be prepared to step into the role of Digital Operator as needed, ensuring all images align with Next’s guidelines. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and implement SOPs for equipment usage, maintenance, and safety within the studio. Production Coordination: Coordinate schedules and logistics for studio productions, managing equipment availability, personnel assignments, and resource allocation. On-Location Shoot Support: Assist in the preparation of on-location shoots by ensuring all necessary equipment is available, arranging schedules, coordinating transportation, rental kit and providing occasional on-site support. Emerging Technologies: Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend equipment upgrades or improvements, ensuring the studio remains at the forefront of innovation. Client & Supplier Relations: Build and foster strong relationships with external clients and suppliers, ensuring smooth collaboration and access to the latest products and technologies. Communication & Team Support: Foster and improve communication between studio teams, ensuring that changes are effectively communicated and supported. Studio Floor Presence: Be actively present on the studio floor to support shoot teams with all technical needs and provide hands-on assistance during set changes. Leadership & Change Management: Lead and take ownership of changes across the studio, helping teams adapt to new processes and tools. About You Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or environment, with a genuine interest in photography. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of the latest hardware/software applications, including Capture One and macOS. Experience with networking solutions and camera tethering. Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with the latest photography equipment and lighting is advantageous. Problem-Solving: A natural problem solver with the ability to think ahead, innovate, and proactively address challenges. Team Player: Excellent teamwork skills, with a forward-thinking and enthusiastic approach. Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive change across teams. Flexibility: Willingness to work outside of set hours, including evenings, weekends, and at various locations as needed. Time Management: Excellent time management, punctuality, and the ability to work well under pressure. Brand Knowledge: Some knowledge of the Next brand is preferred. Professionalism: Maintain a friendly, helpful, and professional manner at all times. Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, ensuring all aspects of the studio run smoothly.
