Job Summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for Dosimetrist Healthcare Scientist to join our team in a forward-thinking radiotherapy physics department at the Velindre Cancer Service in Cardiff.
* Undertaking measurements on Linear Accelerators
* Measurements on patients
* Brachytherapy support
* Treatment Planning support
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake postgraduate development to enable registration with HPC, with support provided across relevant areas in line with the IPEM POST Programme.
Flexible working hours may be required, and duties may extend to associated hospitals in the locality.
Medical Physics provides scientific and technical support for radiotherapy departments, including equipment calibration, QA, repair, maintenance, data networking, and patient dose computations. The department covers machine maintenance, brachytherapy, computing, treatment planning, dosimetry, training, R&D, and radiation protection services.

Qualifications
Essential:
* A degree in physics, medical physics, clinical technology, computer science, radiography science, or equivalent, or working towards it.
* Competence in mathematics, especially mental arithmetic.
Desirable:
* Previous training related to the dosimetrist role.
Experience
* Experience with clinical use of mould room, CT-simulator, brachytherapy, linacs, etc. (desirable).
Skills
* Basic IT skills and proficiency with spreadsheets.
