We work in partnership across services with our Health colleagues and a broad range of partners and we have a key priority in relation to shifting the balance of care and promoting more effective early intervention and preventative supports. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Social Worker to join the South East Mental Health and Substance Misuse Team. The team comprises of Mental Health Officers, Mental Health and Substance Misuse Social Workers and Community Care Assistants. Experienceof partnership working would be desirable as the team work closely with our partners and vulnerable groups of people that come into contact with mental health and substance misuse services. Experience required: • Professional Social Work Qualification (i.e. BA, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent) • Experience of supporting people who have challenging and complex needs, ideally with a focus on Mental Health and Substance Misuse service users would be desirable. • Any of the following post qualifying qualifications would be desirable; MHO accreditation, Practice Educator qualification or Advanced professional certificate in Adult Protection. The post holder is expected to demonstrate: • An ability to manage risk • An ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of individuals including service users and other professionals • An understanding of Adult Support and Protection legislation. • An interest and awareness of recovery focused models of delivery in the community, for both Substance Misuse and Mental Health This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
