Job summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team at Wedgwood House. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in physical and mental health who is passionate about recovery-focussed, patient care whilst promoting least restrictive practices. In this role you will work under the supervision of a B6 OT across 2 mixed sex adult acute wards, delivering clinically effective, evidenced based treatment and interventions to groups and individuals. You will be part of a skilled multi-disciplinary team that uses a range of models including the Model of Human Occupation to enhance functional abilities, promote independence and enable meaningful participation in daily life. You will champion the role and unique contribution of occupational therapy within the multidisciplinary team and promote the life changing effects of enabling meaningful occupation for patients. Main duties of the job The post will involve all parts of the OT process includingscreening, initial assessments, goal setting, routine, functional, home and ADL assessments, 1:1 plus groupwork interventions and discharge preparation and planning. You will work with a diverse multidisciplinary team including psychology, medicine, occupational therapy and lived experience professionals. The team works collaboratively to deliver evidence-based interventions aimed at improving mental health enhancing recovery and reducing the length of hospital admission. Each team member brings a unique perspective and valuable contribution, this enhances our effectiveness as a team and improves outcomes for our patients. The trust supports the professional development and welfare of all staff. Our new team member will be supported with regular supervision and have various opportunities to undertake training aligned with their professional interests and career pathway. They will also be expected to support more junior members of the team with supervision and staff development. In addition to the development of team members the successful applicant will be encouraged to join our Allied health professional networks. These provide support to develop your occupational therapy skills and provide opportunities to connect with other Allied Health Professionals to help develop our services.
