Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Care and Maintenance Technician working across our existing distribution facilities in Bridgwater, Weston, Bristol and Gloucester. This is a key role that is central to the successful delivery of a prestigious contract where Wincanton provide warehousing and distribution for deliveries into the Hinkley Point C build programme that is playing a key role in Helping Britain Achieve Net Zero. Successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain security clearance prior to commencing employment, this includes being able to provide a minimum of 3 years consecutive UK employment/education & residential history. This is a vital role to ensure compliance with passive maintenance of nuclear items, you will be actively checking and maintaining items over 5 warehouses. Adhere to company policies, procedures and protocols for construction, procurement, Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Planning and recording all long-term quality records for the Office of Nuclear Regulations (ONR) requirements Ensure that all plant and equipment delivered to the Warehouse Facilities is maintained as per the supplier requirements Ensure maintenance arrangements support compliance with regulatory, company policies and industry best practice. Represent Wincanton at internal and external committees, working groups, forums, and meetings Schedule and assist asset reviews, report on performance, and monitor action close out and improvement status. Promote the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency for maintenance on all equipment in the warehouse facilities. Execute Care and Maintenance activities. Provide governance of maintenance activities to ensure they are conducted to the required standards and expectations. Champion continuous improvement by identifying and reporting events, areas for improvement and good practices to enhance performance. What will you bring? Knowledge of maintenance practices applied in large engineering organisations across the mechanical engineering disciplines. Understanding and practical experience of specifying work packages including risk assessments and method statements. Knowledge of engineering regulations and standards Demonstrable Engineering/Maintenance experience or applicable qualification Strong communication skills required Experience of working alongside contract teams and able to provide challenge and guidance where required.
