Payroll Administrator – Growing Employee-Owned Business An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well-established, employee-owned payroll and accountancy firm based in South Manchester. The company is set for significant expansion over the next year and is looking for a driven individual to join its payroll team. In this role, you will work closely with the Payroll Senior and Team Leader, supporting various tasks and projects while taking on additional responsibilities in a fast-paced, growing environment. A strong customer focus is essential, ensuring that all interactions—whether by phone or email—are handled professionally, efficiently, and with a solution-driven mindset. Every decision should prioritize both employees and clients. Key Responsibilities: Ensure payslips are delivered to clients in the agreed format Process payroll accurately according to each client’s specifications Manage a portfolio of payroll clients, ensuring checklists are completed each cycle Verify that PAYE and National Insurance deductions are correct Maintain accurate client payroll records and ensure figures balance daily Correctly process P45/P46 information Conduct compliance audits, including FCSA and SDC expense checks Raise any payroll-related issues with management promptly for swift resolution Keep payroll documentation organized and securely filed with supporting records Stay updated on payroll regulations and industry compliance requirements Maintain a results-driven, proactive approach to ensuring daily payroll tasks are completed efficiently Interview Process: The selection process includes a 15-minute initial Teams call, followed by a 2-hour in-person interview featuring: 1. A numeracy assessment (15 minutes) 2. Q&A session (45 minutes) 3.
