Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to join an ADHD nursing team in Nottingham, to support children with ADHD and any co-morbidities they have. Many of our services are commissioned by the NHS and the integrated care board, to support each child with reaching there full potential in education while offering advice around managing coping mechanisms to support behaviour management and educate parents and patients about ADHD. You will work closely with the community paediatricians to support medication management treatment plans for the patients and supporting workshops for parents and patients. You will lead on nurse led clinics and see patients at regular intervals to provide comprehensive health checks. You will provide accurate and timely dictations of your clinic reports and support telephone queries from both parents and additional colleagues in the multidisciplinary team. Main duties of the job To assess children and young people for ADHD and as part of this assessment to ascertain if there are other co-morbidities. Assessment will also include consideration of impact, differential or co-occurring conditions and a risk assessment. Post-diagnostic advice, psychoeducation and support To offer regular medication reviews to children and young people prescribed medication for ADHD, with monitoring of treatment response. To complete physical observations of children and young people as part of their medication review (height, weight, blood pressure and pulse) To care coordinate assigned cases and will manage these cases within a supportive MDT environment. To develop relationships with child, young person and their families (where appropriate) within a designated child, young person and their family's group to establish an effective therapeutic relationship that enables the communication and sharing of complex and sensitive information.
