You will manage onshore projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they meet schedule, budget, safety, and quality requirements. Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will supervise a team of Project Engineering Managers for each project and act as the main point of contact between various stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week (Tuesday to Thursday) at the Manchester office and regular business travel to the Teesside project delivery office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the delivery of multiple engineering design projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, safety, and quality standards.
* Provide Engineering Design Management leadership, ensuring seamless coordination and integration across all project phases.
* Identify and allocate engineering resources to maximize efficiency and productivity throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure engineers fully understand the detailed scope, basis of design, and project requirements, including budget and programme timelines.
* Manage and coordinate design interfaces between the Client, project partners, and supply chain partners.
* Handle contractual communications, including progress meetings, risk reduction meetings, and cost reports.
* Supervise multi-disciplinary design teams and ensure timely closure of all contract actions.
* Provide regular performance reports to senior operational management on engineering delivery.
* Maintain a commercial focus, managing scope to prevent uncontrolled scope creep.
* Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, promoting trust and teamwork through effective communication.
* Uphold the highest standards of safety and ethical behaviour, ensuring safe and reliable operations and client satisfaction.
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, as well as client-specific requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering discipline (essential).
* Professional Qualification (e.g., CEng or equivalent) is preferred.
* Project Management qualification or accreditation (e.g., APM) is preferred.
* Significant experience in Engineering Design Management and in an Engineering Manager role on FEED & EPC projects for onshore brownfield oil & gas facilities, gas pipelines, and/or energy transition projects.
* Strong leadership skills to coordinate and manage multi-disciplinary teams effectively.
* Proficient understanding of project management principles, balancing commercial, technical, and safety requirements.
* Demonstrated track record of successful project delivery, achieving or exceeding client expectations and project objectives.
If you are an experienced Senior Project Engineering Manager with a background in FEED and EPC projects within the energy transition or oil & gas sectors, we encourage you to apply for this exciting role.
