Salary: Starting Salary is £44,711 per annum (level one) with annual incremental rises to £47,754 per annum (level four), subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period. The salary is pro-rata for part-time employees.

About the Role
We are looking for a Public Health Manager to support the work of Nottingham’s Joint Health & Wellbeing Strategy which focuses on improving health and reducing health inequalities in Nottingham City.
In Nottingham, people are experiencing illness earlier than their peers and ultimately having their lives cut short. Two of the key drivers of poor health are diet and physical inactivity. The Public Health Manager will support the implementation of the Eating and Moving for Good Health strategy; a key Nottingham City Health and Wellbeing Board priority. The post holder will predominantly focus on furthering our ‘Eating for Good Health’ agenda. This comprises working across the council, community and academic partners with a focus on the food environment in Nottingham including playing an important role in the newly formed ‘Food Insecurity and Sustainability group’.
In addition, you will support the Public Health Principal manage the relationship with our local, integrated Health and Wellbeing service. The role will also work closely with colleagues in the system who lead on physical activity, Active Nottingham.
As a Public Health Manager you will work alongside your colleagues across the public health team and beyond, to make a real and tangible difference to the lives of those in Nottingham who are most vulnerable. You will use a variety of methods to assess and understand their needs, influence and implement strategies, re-design services and pathways, evaluate our progress and much more! There will be plenty of personal development opportunities, including the possibility of postgraduate study with the University of Nottingham.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience of successfully developing and implementing complex project management, within a recognised project management framework.
* Ability to interpret and appraise published research and locally derived evidence to develop innovative solutions for local public health initiatives and health services.
* Ability to develop partnerships and networks that promote cross-sector commitment and action.
* Ability to design and deliver presentations and training to a range of audiences.
* Ability to take responsibility for an identified area of work, ensuring high quality delivery that meets agreed standards.
* Experience of negotiating and influencing public health priorities with partners as part of the development and review of policies, services, plans and strategies.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post and the post holder will need to have the ability to live and work in the UK.
