Training Specialist - South
About the role
Responsible for the delivery of safety critical training to staff working in Upper Tier COMAH sites within the Petrol Chemicals and bulk storage industry. Assessing employee competencies and identifying additional training needs or requirements to further improve knowledge, skills and overall competency of all operational employees
Key Responsibilities
* Comply with all safety and environmental policies and procedures, ensure training for all personnel is current. Communicating training status and future needs where appropriate before deficiencies exist
* Liaise with line managers to assess and identify new training programmes to continue development of key knowledge and skills
* Assess, develop and deliver training needs against, HSE statutory requirements and new policies and procedural requirements
* Delivery of Process safety training for Operators and management safety training
* Liaise with Corporate L&D on training needs
* Assist Terminals/Pipeline Managers with the development of effective induction programmes
* Ensure MOC is completed, and training needs assessed for all new starters, liaising with line managers to devise an individual training plan where appropriate
* Deliver and oversee the delivery of training to individuals or groups of employees by compiling, producing and presenting training materials for in-house courses
* Travel to all facilities to assess and deliver training as required
* Design and expand training and development programmes based on both organisation and individual needs by: Supervising and monitoring progress made via training programmes
* Sourcing specialised training as appropriate
* Considering the costs of planned programmes and keeping within budget as assessing the return on investment of any training or development programme
* Monitor, review and update the Learning and Development systems as appropriate
* Ensure training records are accurately recorded and then forward to HR for inclusion in employees files
* Monitoring training evaluation forms
* Stay abreast of new techniques and developments in the L&D field, taking the initiative to implement where appropriate
About You
You will be a registered IOSH trainer, possess a NEBOSH General Certification in Process Operations or equivalent, hold an Adult Education & Training Level 3 qualification or above and C&G level 3 Award in assessing competence in the work environment or equivalent.
Your background will cover Operational Safety in Upper Tier COMAH Sites or Bulk liquid storage of petrol and chemicals, with proven experience as a trainer, delivering Confined Space, Site Incident management, breathing apparatus, process safety, SSOW training and incident investigation.
Skills and knowledge will include effective communication at all levels across the business, with the ability to work with a diverse population. Delivering to deadlines and solving problems.

* Circa £40,000 - £45,000.00 per annum (depending on experience)
