This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join Adderley Green, a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service. You will be instrumental in promoting health and independence by delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions, providing clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
As an Occupational Therapist at Adderley Green, you will be responsible for communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, and service users, providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff, ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements, supporting the completion of appraisals/personal development plans, and developing and implementing appropriate policies, protocols, and care pathways. You will need to have an Occupational Therapy profession qualification, extensive post-qualification clinical experience in a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service, and highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models.
Job responsibilities
Your responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist will include:
* Communicating effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, people who access services, carers/supporters/family members, stakeholders, and agencies.
* Providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff including support staff and assistants.
* Ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements.
* Supporting the completion of appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff.
* To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols, and care pathways.
To be a Successful Occupational Therapist you will need:
* Occupational Therapy profession qualification.
* Extensive and relevant post qualification clinical experience with a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service who have complex needs.
* Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches.
* Demonstrates evidence of highly effective clinical reasoning skills.
* Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models.
* Knowledge of how to work with vulnerable adults.

Where you will be working:
Location: Dividy Road, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST2 0TN. You will be working at Adderley Green, a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries.
The extensive facilities cater for the specific needs of people aged over 18 years who have complex neurological care and rehabilitation requirements. You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver truly person-centred services where each individual is at the heart of everything.
Adderley Green offers a full interdisciplinary team to support and enable residents to undergo reviews of their specific and/or changing needs and work towards targeted and monitored goals utilizing nationally recognized outcome measures.
