Job summary We are looking for a self-motivated, flexible, hardworking individual to become an integral part of a busy team within the Head and Neck department. Your duties will include being part of the AMD coordinator team, supporting the booking of injections, virtual and diagnostic clinics, completing general admin tasks, dealing with telephone enquiries and a variety of other secretarial duties as well as managing daily workloads. In addition, you will be required to assist in the timely management and validation of patient pathways. As well as the AMD coordinator role you may be required to assist in secretarial admin tasks to support the wider team. Previous experience of the Ophthalmology Department is desirable; in particular an understanding of the Medical Retina pathway.Previous secretarial experience and experience of working with the general public and or professionals is essential. You must have good communication skills with patients and colleagues at all levels and a flexible approach to your work. Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to perform a high level of secretarial and administration tasks within the Head and Neck department. You will need to be able to work efficiently and accurately and work flexibly and confidentially. You should have good written and oral communication skills and function well as part of a team, liaising with colleagues of all levels, using your own initiative and ability to prioritise work to achieve deadlines. You will need to be competent in a range of IT packages, including MS Office. You will be a point of contact for patients, speciality teams and other departments for all enquiries relating to patient admissions.
