Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include:
* To lead on the Foundation training programme for Trainee Pharmacists, including multisector placements.
* To train and support a team of designated supervisors and DPPs for our trainee pharmacists.
* To develop early years Independent Prescribing.
* To work with local HEIs to develop and maintain the undergraduate pharmacy placement programme.
* To develop our pharmacy work experience programme.
You will be supported by the pharmacy professional development team, consisting of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants and Administration staff under the strategic guidance of the Principal Pharmacist for Professional Development.

Job responsibilities
* To develop a local foundation training programme for Trainee Pharmacists to meet the requirements of the GPhC and UHL.
* To be responsible for the local delivery of all aspects of foundation training.
* Network at a regional and national level to ensure best practice regarding foundation training at UHL.
* To provide training and support for members of pharmacy staff involved in foundation training.
* To lead on Independent Prescribing training for all eligible Trainee Pharmacists.
Undergraduate pharmacy students
* To support the development and implementation of the Undergraduate Pharmacy Placements.
* Support delivery of clinical placements for MPharm students.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GPhC registration.
* Diploma or equivalent relevant clinical experience.
* Qualified independent prescriber.
* Member of professional organisations e.g. UKCPA, RPS.
Skills & Abilities
* Ability to influence and negotiate.
Experience
* Post registration hospital pharmacy experience.
* Medical/nursing/pharmacy staff teaching or training.
* Experience of leading and working with teams at a senior level.
* Experience of managing performance.
Knowledge
* Proven ability to influence beyond professional boundaries.
* Demonstrable ability to use audit to improve service or clinical outcomes.
