Job Description
We are currently seeking a General Manager to join our expanding operation at our Bardon based site. In this pivotal role, you will oversee inventory management, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring optimal stock control to meet the needs of the business.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm. We’re offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with a market leader.
* Establishing norms and standards of performance. Monitoring production performance and organisational and operational processes. Collaborating with other stakeholders to enhance productivity and employee satisfaction. Communicating ideas and opinions to other members of management.
* Annual savings objectives will be set and agreed; you will lead the program to identify and deliver these savings.
* Identify and deliver service improvement activity across the business through employing leadership direction, strategic implementation of business objectives, and the implementation of contractual terms and business principles.
* This is a group role with responsibility for multiple internal and customer-driven objectives. You will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver growth, improve margin, and provide sustainable solutions to drive the business forwards.
* Acting as a role model at all times and will always consider the business commitment to Health & Safety, Quality, Environment, and Cost management.
* Work with key business stakeholders and across multi-jurisdictional teams to build a team mentality and a continuous improvement mind-set, focused on Safety, Quality, and Performance.
* Deliver the IPS Vision through tactical and strategic planning and implementation.
* You will drive an environment that fosters an ongoing programme of change and improvement.
* You will have specific P&L ownership and will undertake your role and duties to deliver against business objectives.
* Liaise with all group functions to support and resolve operational day-to-day issues and plan to prevent re-occurrence and deliver a sustainable operation.
* Manage customer accounts both tactical and strategic, ensuring contacts are fulfilled whilst developing commercial ownership.
* To adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company Health, Safety, and Quality regulations.
* Provide a service based on Reliability, Quality, and Repeatability, which is both measurable and auditable.
* To ensure that all areas comply with hygiene audits, both internal and external.
* To ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to.
* Support Management team in the development of standardised systems across the Region.
* Support the Region in the delivery of highly focused and efficient operations at each site.
* Challenge the ways of working and deliver through innovation cost savings. Monitor, control, and minimise waste.
* Review staffing levels by site, rotating staff accordingly in line with volumes and building robust succession plans to maintain the service.
* Monitor and manage performance against KPIs.
* Develop staff by training, mentoring, and personal development plans.
* To conduct disciplinary investigations in accordance with company procedure.
* Work with group and site teams to ensure a robust QMS is maintained across operations.
* Establish internal capability in order to protect business identity and client brands.
* Effectively manage employee issues to prevent issues from escalating.
Qualifications
To apply for the role of General Manager, you will possess the following skills, experiences, and qualifications:
* Ability to identify potential and motivate a team of people.
* Extensive knowledge of processes and procedures.
* Experience of working successfully within an FMCG environment.
* Experience of working in a customer-led environment with changing priorities.
* 5 + years management experience.
* Extensive experience of managing a team across multiple locations.
* Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise work to strict deadlines.
* Experience of working within a production environment and with packaging machinery.
* Experience of customer, BRC, and ISO audits.
* Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards associated with the industry.
