We have a number of opportunities for talented Engineers to take lead roles within our newly re-structured Test & Development (T&D) group. Each Lead Engineer position will be responsible for overall delivery of T&D activities for a particular area of the car. Responsibilities will include mentoring a small group of engineers and technicians, ensuring good communications both internally and externally, overseeing rig design and test delivery, and strategic planning for new capabilities and methods in that area.
In this role you will be required to:
1. Work with Planning, Structures and Design to understand incoming test requirements in your area of responsibility.
2. Ensure that all critical T&D equipment, testing and data is delivered for your function area.
3. Communicate and organise T&D design, test and build activities based on the incoming requirements from the engineering group.
4. Manage the day-to-day engagement and workload of individuals within your area.
5. Define and oversee the design of new equipment and test rigs.
6. Define and oversee the development of methods & software tools to analyse & interpret results.
7. Work with the Head of T&D on recruitment and appraisal management.
8. Demonstrate AMF1 values of honesty, inclusion and collaboration and encourage those same values in your team members.
Essential Skills & Knowledge Required:
1. Have a high-quality degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering.
2. Experience of test and development activities.
3. An enthusiasm for test data analysis and component validation.
4. CAD and design skills.
5. Solid numeric skills, including the ability to interpret data.
These roles carry significant responsibility and offer what might be your first step towards a management position whilst retaining a key technical input.
