HF’s Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship is delivered by BPP University who have been established for over 40 years developing legal professionals from paralegals through to solicitors. The two-year course will prepare you for life as a Paralegal supporting our industry leading legal departments. What will you be doing during the Apprenticeship? You will be assisting Solicitors and Fee Earners with files by producing standard documentation, updating the Firm’s database accordingly and directly communicating with third parties in a professional and effective manner. You have the opportunity to deal with a caseload of files and assist other solicitors as and when required. You will ensure that clients are confident that their legal affairs are dealt with in a business-like and competent manner and to ensure the efficient operation of the firm. You will undertake administrative duties to support the efficient running of the team. Here is a breakdown of what your journey will look like; Administrative Responsibilities: To undertake all administration duties as requested and be prepared to use a high degree of self-management and initiative. Management and coordination of files and correspondence/documents. To make and receive telephone calls so as to provide updates of information to relevant parties as required. To prepare and process correspondence and documents through word processing. To administer daily post and assist with daily filing of documentation on files. To ensure that an effective filing system is maintained. To assist with the dispatch of outgoing correspondence and enclosures. Conducting legal research. Progressing to providing support to solicitors as and when required including: Assisting the solicitors/ fee earners with chasers and post Updating information on our case management systems as requested To undertake direct communication with third parties / clients on the telephone in a professional and effective manner Providing first line support for client queries Producing standard documentation Any other duties which will assist the solicitors / fee earners. Progression to assisting on all types of files: To include issuing proceedings to recover insurer clients outlay, dealing with pre-litigation claims and MoJ work. Drafting Legal documents To assist with the dispatch of outgoing correspondence and enclosures. To ensure the confidentiality and security of the firm’s and client documentation and information To undertake any specific training when required to do so. Progressing to file management: Ensuring that all cases are dealt with in compliance with SRA and Law Society Practice Management Standards To practice good file management Ensure all important dates are diarised Keep up to date with all correspondence relating to files Comply with HF’s practices and procedure After two years you will be a qualified Paralegal handling your own files with the opportunity to go and undertake further development opportunities that can lead into team leadership, operational management or even becoming a Partner What do I need? To be eligible to apply for a Level 3 Apprenticeship you will need 3 x A-levels at A-C or equivalent qualifications. We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate: A keen interest in a career within one of our legal department as a Solicitor Initiative Strong attention to detail Strong communication skills Due to the requirements of the provider we are unable to accept applications from those who are degree educated.
