Job Title: Principal Designer (PD) – CDM (2015)
Location: United Kingdom
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Principal Designer with a strong background in civil infrastructure, building refurbishment, S278 schemes, or housebuilding. In this role, you will lead the delivery of the CDM Principal Designer responsibilities on various projects across the UK, providing expert advice on health and safety design risk management and ensuring compliance with the CDM (2015) Regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead CDM Projects:
* Act as the Principal Designer on projects, ensuring adherence to the CDM (2015) Regulations.
* Provide expert advice on health and safety design risk management principles throughout the design and planning stages.
* Stakeholder Advisory:
* Advise Principal Contractors on health and safety risk management matters, ensuring all relevant risks are managed effectively.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and other duty holders regarding health and safety responsibilities.
* Project Support and Review:
* Assist and review project designs on both planned and ad hoc bases to ensure design integrity and safety compliance.
* Generate and compile pre-construction information, ensuring timely dissemination to clients and Principal Contractors.
* Technical Expertise:
* Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of temporary works procedures and arrangements, ensuring they are integrated into project plans as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Project Experience:
* Proven experience working on projects within civil infrastructure, building refurbishment, S278 schemes, or housebuilding.
* Health and Safety Expertise:
* Demonstrable expertise in health and safety design risk management principles relevant to the role.
* In-depth understanding of the CDM (2015) Regulations and associated best practice.
* Certifications:
* A NEBOSH qualification is essential.
* Additional Skills:
* Excellent communication and advisory skills.
* Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
