Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust has a proven track record of providing excellent support to those entering the nursing profession in partnership with universities. We have been recognised nationally for the support we have provided individuals during their studies and in the period of settling into employment. Nursing Associates work as a vital part of the wider nursing team and this important role helps to bridge care between Healthcare Support Workers and Registered Nurses. The fundamental focus of the role is to deliver care for patients and the public. Nursing Associate training includes a mixture of hands-on experience within the workplace, supported by learning in the classroom. This is a 2 year Apprenticeship and at the end of your Apprentice Nursing Associate training, you will receive a Foundation Degree, and once you register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, you will become a Registered Nursing Associate. Once you have completed your Foundation Degree, you have the opportunity to progress onto further education and become a Registered Nurse by completing a shortened Nursing Degree or Nursing Degree Apprenticeship. Nursing Associates work in many different health and care settings, including hospitals, care homes, learning disabilities, general practice and in the community. Main duties of the job You are applying for our next programme which commences in June 2025 with the University of Huddersfield. Following your initial application, you may be invited to attend an assessment centre where you will undertake a number of assessments and an interview on the 2nd April 2025. You will be asked to provide original certificates of your Maths and English qualifications. If you don't have these, you will not be able to attend the assessment centre. If successful and offered a place on the course, you will be fully supported by the Trust, with paid employment as an apprentice during your studies and Level 5 Course fees paid. Upon successful completion of your studies, you will be guaranteed a permanent job with the Trust as a Nursing Associate.
