Here at Parker Meggitt, we're looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Fareham-based Team. You'll be responsible for day-to-day operational quality support with Materials Review Board (MRB)/Team Improvement Boards (TIB), monthly KPI data, and compilation of statistics supporting the background for steering quality improvements.
You won't have any direct reports in this role but will be required to delegate the work of others and occasionally provide guidance and mentoring within the team.
Your responsibilities
* Capture and define requirements through a disciplined and rigorous approach to requirements engineering and ask challenging questions about the requirements to ensure understanding.
* Construct and implement embedded engineering solutions including detailed design, contribution to technical reviews, and performance optimisation.
* Plan and document system verification including system tests, development tests, unit tests, component tests, integration tests, regression tests, stress tests, acceptance tests, qualification tests, and flight tests as appropriate.
* Generate work products conforming to all aspects of technical and quality requirements by following robust configuration control, review, and change management processes.
* Assist in the compilation of plans, estimates, task lists, and risk management plans in support of programme objectives, project estimates, and bids.
* Work with customers, other engineering disciplines, and other internal departments across the whole development process and respond to their requests in a timely and professional manner at both Meggitt Avionics' and customers' premises as required.
* Perform internal project activities and work with external sub-contract organisations, whilst maintaining focus on achieving goals with a positive can-do attitude.
* Contribute to continual process improvement, in support of the company business and strategic objectives.
Who we are looking for
* You'll hold an Associate's Degree in a relevant field or have equivalent experience.
* Ability to develop creative new product solutions to complex problems.
* Experience of Value Added production process and committed to continuous improvement.
* Strong decision-making, problem-solving, data analytical, and research skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to maintain and compile clear, accurate records and prepare technical reports.
* Good interpersonal skills and able to pro-actively work within a multi-function team environment.
* Strong prioritisation skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work autonomously in order to meet deadlines.
* Ability to present and deliver technical oral presentations.
* Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers.
Ideally, you will also have
* Aerospace industry experience.
* Proven ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally and at a global level.
* A strong team player, with the ability to also work independently and prioritise duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines.
