Teaching Personnel is looking for SEMH Support Workers to work in a variety of school settings, including primary, secondary, and post-16 provisions. Many of the students you will support face complex challenges, such as behavioural difficulties, exclusions, trauma, or additional learning needs. A high number have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require targeted intervention to thrive in an educational setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you have a background in education, youth work, social care, or similar roles and want to make a lasting impact on young people's lives.
As an SEMH Support Worker, you'll play an essential role in promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being. You'll work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCOs to provide structured support, either one-to-one or in small groups.
1. Implementing tailored behaviour strategies to support individual pupils.
2. Assisting students in managing emotions, reducing anxiety, and building resilience.
3. Delivering focused intervention sessions on self-regulation, confidence, and coping skills.
4. Supporting students with re-integration following exclusions or extended absences.
5. Helping to create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.
6. Working with teachers to adapt and deliver personalised learning plans.
